Phil 4.11

//Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content//
Phil 4:11

True contentment in Christ will always produce a Holy discontentment. There is such a thing as a holy discontentment and I think it is truly lacking in the Body of Christ today. It is lacking in my heart today. I think Paul is a wonderful example of a man who was so content in the Lord that it produced a Holy discontentment. A Holy discontentment is not being able to keep quiet with the Gospel because I can’t stand contently as thousands of souls walk into hell. A holy discontent is when I day by day seek the Lord because I know that He will never grow weak or run dry. A holy discontent looks like not being ok with the fact that there are thousands of orphans in the world today. A holy discontentment is not being ok with the fact that there are millions of unreached people in the world. A holy discontent is not just reading the Word, but living on and by it.

Holy discontentment keeps one in the race. It keeps us from tapping out with weariness. It keeps us pressing on towards the goal of the upward prize of God in Christ Jesus. Holy discontentment produces pure endurance for the glory of God.

Application: Today I am praying that the Lord will break my heart for the things that break His. I am especially praying for the women who are caught in sex slavery.
