You Are Not A Failure

The other day I was feeling particularly down about myself when I walked in the kitchen and said "I feel like a failure" to which my 13 year old brother overheard me and replied "You always say that". His words stopped me in my tracks and sucker punched the breath out of me. Here I am, a proclaimed Child of God and I've publicly set an example of calling God's masterpiece a failure. I instantly knew that this wasn't something that I could just brush off and get on with my day. This wasn't just an excusable comment that I made, it was a lie that was degrading the very work of God's hands and it was spreading to others.

The Holy Spirit spoke to me that anytime I degrade what Christ created in me, I am wasting precious time that I could be worshiping my Creator. Holy Spirit spoke to me that when I call what He made a failure, i'm taking His word in vain. Holy Spirit taught me that when I'm looking at the world to define my worth, i'm worshiping the world and not my Father. In Christ, we are not failures. In Christ, we are His masterpiece.

He doesn't call me a failure, He calls me His child. (John 1.12)
He calls me a branch of the True Vine of Christ (John 151, 5)
He calls me a friend of Jesus (John 15. 15)
He proclaims my redemption and freedom, in Jesus name (Romans 3. 24)
He's crucified my old self & He's freed me from being a slave to sin (Romans 6:6)
He does not condemn me (Romans 8.1)
He's set me free from the law of sin & death (Romans 8:2)
He's called me to be an heir of Christ (Romans 8:17)
He's accepted me, for God's glory (Romans 15.7)
He's called me His saint (1 Corinthians 1.2)
He's given me His wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption, in Jesus name. (1 Corinthians 1.30)
He's given me my body to be a temple of the Holy Spirit, so that He can dwell in me (1 Corinthians 6.19)
He's given me citizenship in heaven (Phil 3:20)
He's blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Eph 1.3)
He's lavished God's grace upon my life without restriction (Eph 1:5,8)
He's sealed me with His Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13)
He's working in me an eternal weight of glory (2 Cor 4.17)

The truth is, apart from Christ, I am a failure. Without Him I can do nothing. But I am not apart from Christ. I am a child of God and I am not without Him. All things are possible in Him. There is no limit to what He can do in and through His children. If you're in Christ, believe the beautiful truths that He has declared over your life. Don't waste any precious time worshiping the world when you can be worshiping the King of kings. If you're not in Christ, you are missing out on the greatest gift that this world will see. Jesus is calling and His arms are open wide.

//Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.//
Matthew 11:28
