1 Cor 9.24

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭‪9:24‬‬ ‭

We have been given one mission. To know God and make Him know. The mission is the Gospel always and forever. No matter who you are, if you are a child of God, you've been sent out on a gospel mission. A mission to win souls for Christ. Everything that we do flows from this mission. Many things will change, but if the mission of the gospel changes in our hearts then we have disqualified ourself.

All run, but not all receive the price. Those of the house of God are all in the same race, but the outcome of the race will be different for each and every soul. We have all walked through the starting line when we put our faith in Jesus Christ. God's grace propels us to the starting line and God's grace will carry us to the finish line, but we decide how we will run. I want to run in such a way to receive the crown because Jesus is worth it. Those who choose not to compete but meander through their race are those who hid the talents that the Master gave to each runner. We all cross, but there is a big difference in a 5k walker and an Olympic athlete. Both finish a race, but that is the only common ground they have. If we are in Christ, we will all make it to the finish line, but our races will be drastically different.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians‬ ‭3:20-21‬ ‭

I want a race that testifies of a God that is able to do far more abundantly that I can ask, think or imagine. I want my race to testify of His glory to the Church throughout all generations, forever and ever. A race like this takes absolute surrender to everything that I have and everything that I am. It means going as hard and fast as you can for the Lord everyday. That doesn't mean having the most good works, but it means a heart that is steadfastly running towards the Lord. When our heart is in that place, good works (that He predestined before the foundation of the the world) will come and be a (super)natural outflow.

Application: Today as I walk I want to pray that the race of my life will testify if God's glory to all generations.
