Dear Momma

Dear Momma,

I don't remember the first time our eyes met, but you do. Though it was the first time we saw each other, you already knew and loved me so intimately. You carried me everywhere you went for 9 months, giving your life to me. Momma, God chose you before the foundation of the world to be the vessel that He would use to knit me together. He created you fearfully and wonderfully and imparted my life to your body, life that was His workmanship, created by His loving kindness for His good works. What makes you exceed many is the testimony of your life. The testimony of a life that was given away. I have watched you give your life away for the sake of the Gospel ever since I have had breath in my being. Many have done noble, but you excel them all. That is because your worth, it's above rubies. Your heart has been crafted by our Lord Jesus Himself and your light shines forth brighter than the morning sun. Your life revolves around the Son. Without Him, you wouldn't be, but with Him, you are altogether beautiful.

You diligently work with your hands in delight, not delight in the sons of man but in the Son of Man. You do good to all. Never falling by the pressures and temptations of the world, because your heart is set on the pilgrimage. You arise in the dawn of day to meet with your all Sufficient One and gather His strength for each coming day. He strengthens your feeble arms and week knees and sends you on a mission. You live for His kingdom with abandon and might. Every day you live with the supernatural might of the Holy Spirit. You run into His mission with passion and grace, extending your hand to all. You live without fear of trial or tribulation, because you know that height, or depth, nor anything else in all creation can separate you from the love of your Father. You are clothed in the scarlet blood of Jesus, you are without fault and made perfect in His sight. Though you never stack up earthly possessions, you have great wealth in His kingdom. You are clothed in the royal love and glory of God. His joy flows out of your life effortlessly. Your heart is found in His, and you laugh without fear of the future. Your words are seasoned with grace and kindness is on your tongue. Dear momma, I wish my words could tell the story of the beautiful painting that canvases your life. He is the Artist and I love all of His work, but you, you are my favorite piece of His that I've yet to see. I wish you could see the painting of your life like I can. Momma, it's breathtaking. Your favorite color is yellow and I can't help but wonder if that is because you have so much light in your life. Your favorite flower is the Sunflower and I can't help but think that is because of your love for the Son of God, who breathed life into your life. Now I know why I love your painting so much, it's because it reminds me of Jesus. You've loved Him fiercely and lived in His grace. I see His beauty and it is much to behold. We're running this race together, knit by an unquenched love from above. Thank you for loving God with all of your heart + soul + mind + strength. It is the best thing you could ever do for me. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised

Happy Birthday Mom. I love you.
